Karazin University has received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India in Ukraine, Manoj Kumar Bharti, and the Secretary for Public Relations of the Embassy of India in Ukraine, Vadym Ponomarov.

The agenda of the visit included a meeting with Karazin University President, Vil Bakirov, the Vice-President Zarif Nazyrov, and the Head of the International Activity Organization of the Center for International Cooperation, Oleksandr Fadieiev.

In particular, Mr. Bakirov acquainted the Indian diplomats with Karazin University’s past and present highlighting the positions the University holds in international and national rankings. He also pointed out that on November 4, 2016, within the visit of the Indian delegation to the University, the parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding between O. P. Jindal Global University and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Taking into account the potential of Karazin University, it is essential to expand cooperation with Indian higher educational institutions.

In his turn, Manoj Kumar Bharti thanked the University President for the opportunity to visit the University and suggested establishing partnership relations with the University of Mumbai. Moreover, he said that a delegation from Maharashtra (India) is going to visit Kharkiv in late March 2017. The delegation will have representatives of the University of Mumbai in its composition, too. The delegates intend to visit V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, with Manoj Kumar Bharti meeting with students and giving them a lecture.

The guests also got acquainted with the expositions of the University History Museum and the Museum of Archaeology, visited the International Academic Centers, particularly the Ukrainian-Indian Academic Center and the Confucius Institute.
